James Earl Ray did not kill Martin Luther King.

The civil rights leader was murdered in a Memphis hospital.
The killer was not a white supremacist in a hooded sheet, but rather a prominent physician and two hit men who acted under orders from FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.
Such statements could be dismissed as incredulous conjectures from yet another conspiracy theorist, except for the fact that they are the findings of a Dr. William Pepper, a respected civil rights attorney who spent 40 years investigating King’s murder, which took place on April 4, 1968.
His findings are revealed in The Plot to Kill King, which is arriving at bookstores throughout the country this month.
Pepper interviewed everyone associated with the assassination, including police officials, the attending physicians and nurses, workers at the motel where King was staying, members of King’s staff, and James Earl Ray.
King was killed shortly after his arrival at St. Joseph’s Hospital, according to Lula Mae Shelby, a surgical assistant at the Memphismedical facility. She maintains that the civil rights leader was awake and alert when he was brought to the emergency operating room.
When a team of surgeons began working on the wounded preacher, Dr. Breen Bland, chief of surgery at St. Joseph’s and two men in suits, barged into the operating room. Dr. Bland, Mrs. Shelby alleges, barked out the command: “Stop working on that nigger and let him die! Now all of you get out of here, right now. Everybody get out.”
Before leaving the operating room, Mrs. Shelby said she saw the two men remove the breathing tube from King’s throat and Dr. Bland place a pillow over King’s face.
Mrs. Shelby’s testimony is backed up by Ron Adkins, whose father Russell was a member of the Dixie mafia.
Ron Adkins remembers Dr. Brand visiting his father and saying: “If he’s not killed by the shot, make sure he gets to St. Joseph’s Hospital and we’ll make sure he doesn’t leave.”
In addition to providing this testimony in a sworn deposition, Ron Adkins further says that visits to his father before the hit on King were made by Clyde Tolson, Hoover’s right hand. At times, Tolson was accompanied by other FBI officials who provided the elder Adkins with satchels of cash.
When asked who else received payments from the FBI, Ron Adkins purportedly said: “Reverend Samuel “Billy” Kyles and Reverend Jesse Jackson.
Was Jesse Jackson really involved in the King assassination?
Stay tuned for part two.
